Here's my quick review of the FireStick 4K plus Game Pass Ultimate cloud streaming. Just got mine yesterday and tested it for a couple of hours on a 4K HDR TV, terrible Australian internet (100 mb/s) and wifi.It is fantastic. Easy to setup, although the FireStick had to do a number of updates. Connected xbox controller easily. Xbox app works well. Some occasional artefacts and bitrate compression with all games. Some input delay navigating the dashboard (minimal though). And once I'd been using it for an hour I stopped noticing some of these things.Games played:Starfield: takes ages to sync data, but once going was very smooth. Minimal input delay and barely noticed it after 5 mins. I got in quite a lot of shootouts to test properly.Forza Horizon 5: Really smooth, can't say I had any input delay. Looked and felt great.Lies of P: I'm a souls like fan and have beaten this game twice. If I wasn't currently obsessed with Elden Ring's DLC, I'd do another playthrough of this just by cloud streaming. It ran really well.Wolfenstein. This was terrible. The only one that had significant lag. Basically unplayable. I'll give it another go to see if it was just a one off random issue.Halo Infinite: Played straight after Wolfenstein given it's a FPS. It was probably the smoothest. Looked fantastic and ran really well.Overall, I think this a fantastic option if you're regularly subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate. If MS also add the ability to play your owned games via the cloud, this combo would be a game changer.

Cheaper than updating to a smart TV

I have an old Samsung large screen TV which still works perfectly and fits exactly where I want it to in my living room. I was hesistant to throw it away just to replace it with a more modern TV when it is a really good unit, but I wanted streaming services! I saw the Firestick on Amazon and I figured I'd give it a try because it was very cheap, but I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise this is an amazing product, it plugs into my HDMI port and turns my TV into a modern smart TV. The 4k picture quality is awesome, and the capability to download virtually all streaming apps, has suddenly given me thousands of viewing options instead of the pittance that the free to air TV channels were offering. It was very easy to set up and very user friendly, the remote control does seem rather flimsy and I don't know how it will be in a year from now after heavy use, but besides that, I love IT AND i AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE.

Bought this for my 11 year old LG 65 inch TV (LED LCD TV) and works as advertised. Installed it today and was easy to install. Excellent quality. Obviously the Movie and Music Streaming requires subscriptions. Have not used Alexa yet but will be doing so. Happy with the purchase, value for money.

The Amazon Fire Stick is simply amazing. It allows me to access all my favourite apps, to watch movies and TV shows within seconds. Alexa voice command is so easy to use too, I can find almost anything, even if it is a paid program. I used to access Netflix and YouTube using my Sony Blu-ray player but the Fire Stick has so many other options which the player does not. Now my Blu-ray player is strictly for physical media. The Fire Stick has super-fast start up and smooth navigation. So far, I have not encountered any major issues, and I could not be happier!

Easier than it first seems when you know how to open the controller.

I was excited to receive our Fire TV Stick 4K. We don't have a 4K TV, but it works so well with our 780HD that we don't notice any loss in the picture quality. When I first put it together, I was frustrated with getting the controller open to put the batteries in. Still, I eventually found directions on the US Amazon site from another user who advised placing the stick between both flattened hands, pressing down a little and moving hands in opposite directions. It was impossible when I tried using my thumb, but it was easy to slide it open with both hands flattened around it. Fire TV Stick 4K also has all the apps we use. We did use the Telstra TV box, which is going away, and Telstra's alternative does not have all the apps, but the Fire TV stick has them. Another plus is that we only need to use one controller. The Telstra TV controller did not work with the sound on our TV, so we had to use our TV controller for the last few years. However, the Fire TV 4K Stick works with our sound. It's so convenient. I'm happy we got it and did not go with what Telstra recommends.
